Shani Ketema - Georgia & NJ

Hi, I’m Shani Ketema (she/her), a full-spectrum doula, community health worker, and longtime advocate for reproductive justice. My work is rooted in over a decade of experience supporting birthing people across all walks of life — including teens, first-time parents, clients with chronic conditions, and families with unique cultural or spiritual needs.
I believe that childbirth is hard enough. It requires courage, surrender, and strength — but our Creator has given us everything we need to make it through. There’s a built-in wisdom to birth: physical, emotional, and spiritual. My job is to support that wisdom, to guide you gently through the process, and to hold space when things feel uncertain or overwhelming.
As a Black woman (of West Indian and African descent), I also understand how critical advocacy is in the labor room. I bring a strong voice and a listening ear — empowering you to make informed decisions about your care, so you can focus on bringing your baby earthside with clarity and peace.
